Despina Psara
Despina Psara is a (re)searcher based in Cyprus. Her work engages critical geographies, politics of refusal, and human–nonhuman relations through audiovisual methods, collaborative inquiry, and visual investigations. She is interested in how political subjectivities, infrastructures, and forms of social and material life are shaped through conditions of division, bordering, and conflict.
She is currently completing an MA in Peace, Conflict, and Democracy at the University of Cyprus, where her audiovisual thesis examines conscientious objectors across the divide and the ways their refusal is articulated in relation to the ongoing hypermilitarisation of the island.
